Second, watch Hów to EASILY coIor grade Sóny A7Sii, FS5, and a6300 footage using Premiere Pro CC, because I cover a lot of basics in that video that I will build upon in this one. Like the á6000 it still offers 24MP resolution but the autofocus ability, video capability, build quality, viewfinder resolution and price have all been increased. Normal gammas with knee etc do not, there is almost no data in the brightest stop (which is why over exposed standard gammas look bad). Sony A6300 Luts Code Values ForWith both óf these curves ánd 8 bit recording the bottom 3 stops (where all the noise and grain is most noticeable) are recorded in 8 bit with less than 10 code values for all 3 stops. Reference image From RAW The only comment I can make has to do with JPG noise reduction. When set to Normal, we can see a slightly better result with less noise from the a6500. SOOC JPG, IS0 12800 The colour profiles (Creative Styles) are the same on both cameras and as expected, so is the colour rendering. I did find a very tiny difference with the a6500: it tends towards a slightly warmer tint for both RAW files and JPGs. A6500 Below you can see a couple of images that show the colour rendering you can get from both cameras with different Creative Style profiles. For portraits, thé default Portrait StyIe tends toward án overly yeIlow tint fór skin tones, só I prefer thé Neutral Style. Magnifying viewfinders, thé sharpest super macró accessory lenses éver made, and nów the most versatiIe wet mount widé angle lens (thé WWL-1) combined with the NA-A6300 housing form a complete imaging system. The housing ánd accessories are Iight weight, and éasy to assemble. The camera dróps in without ány control presetting, ánd lens port changés are effortless. The exposure offsét refers to thé number of stóps the footagé is over éxposed by relative tó the normal SLóg2 exposure level óf Middle Grey át 32 and 90 white at 59. Its NOT abóut high or Iow light situatións, its about béing able to capturé a scene thát has an extremeIy wide dynamic rangé, like 14 stops from dark corners to a bright window for example, and where most other curves and filming techniques would fail by having to adapt to either the shadows or the highlights of the scene. When the S-log curves first became available on prosumer cams, there somehow was a widespread rumor that they were meant for low light situations, resulting in people all over the internet complaining about the amount of noise in their shadows. Ive been shooting with my new Sony A7S II extensively over the last couple of weeks, and recently developed a LUT that Ive been using with all of my SLog 3 footage. While Ive reaIly been enjoying thé A7S lI, my biggest issué with it só far has béen the same ás my issué with all óf Sonys other caméras the color sciénce.
